Being snack smart is far trickier than you’ve been lead to believe, we know. Worst still, its fact that the hungrier you are when you start to eat, the longer it will take for your hunger to subside. Luckily for you, we have a few quick fixes that will help you fight back those hunger pangs.

 1.Steamed Edamame

If you’re looking for a high protein based snack, edamame is where its at. Most groceries stores carry packs of frozen edamame that you can just throw in the microwave for a few minutes to steam. Sprinkle with coarse salt for extra flavour. 1/2 a cup packs 8 grams of fibre into only about 100 calories.

 

2. Carrot Raisin Graham crackers.

Using 1 large cinnamon graham cracker, 1/4 cup grated carrot, 2 Tbsp raisins and a spear of cream cheese, this healthy snack will tide you over between meals. Studies say that rasins increase levels of leptin, a hormone that quiets cravings.

 

3. Spicy Kumara sticks

 

No winter snack list would be complete without the savoury combination of kumara and butter. Get an added kick from cayenne pepper for that warm feeling.
