Matariki Meals of the Month
Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa
We often take for granted what an amazing land we live in. Surrounded by unparalleled beauty, and a culture uniquely our own.
This month we pay homage to Matariki, the Pleiades star cluster and the sighting of the next new moon. Historically, Matariki marked the start of winter. During this time, Māori would come together to prepare for the cold season. It’s also a time for Māori to reflect on the past and plan for the future.
Though we may live in a very different time to those humble beginnings,
we are grateful to live work and play in this amazing country known as Aotearoa.
A nation that has become a diverse multicultural hub known for peace and prosperity united under the same umbrella but never forgetting the important things like, community, education and nourishment.
Behind the scenes of our matariki meals
Our development team have worked hard to create our June meals of the month to reflect Matariki. Numerous days researching and looking into forgotten or unknown kiwi ingredients, many arguably being the original superfoods of this great land.
We hope you enjoy.
Ngā manaakitanga (With Best Wishes)
